If you are a fan of the Dead or Alive games then you will be pumped to know that this classic fighting game, has been revamped and re-designed for the new Nintendo 3ds. This new iteration of the series is called Dead or Alive Dimensions. The 3d effect of the new Nintendo 3ds gives the DOA series a real boost with a whole new portable gaming experience.
Release Date: May 17, 2011
Just about every gamer has played Dead or alive. For some, it really has become an institution at one point of a gamer’s life; Dead or alive tournaments for hours on end – even if you were partial to Tekken or Street Fighter. Now Team Ninja gets ready to release Dead or Alive Dimensions 3d for Nintendo 3ds. Regardless of a person’s preference, just about everyone has seen something that they liked in the game, and it doesn’t particularly matter which version you may have played. With these things in mind, it’s nice to know that the 3DS will be getting an installment, one that’ll definitely convert a few people into the fold. It’s just what people expect out of a Dead or Alive game, although it does have a few more features that may not be expected.
Fight Effectively
The important thing for any fighter on the handheld is how quick the game responds to button presses. For whatever reason, this has been a little troubling for some, much to everyone’s dismay. Dead or Alive Dimensions is as snappy as its console counterpart, but this is something to expect from Team Ninja, as they’ve been particularly good about response time on any of the games in the franchise. As one would expect, all of the fighters are here, including the favorites Hitomi and Hayate, so people who’ve grown with the game won’t be too out of place.
Playing in the DOA chronicle mode you can re-live all of the immersive Dead or Alive stories from the original to DOA’s 4th installment, and see the action in 3d! On top of all the original stories Team Ninja has added a host of new content to Dimensions that will allow you to play through never before seen DOA stories.
Other play modes and Features:
- Classic Arcade
- Survival Mode
- Tag Team Challenge
- Throwdown Mode
- More than 20 DOA fighters to choose from
- 50 different stages
Costumes and Character Models
People who enjoy fighting games understand how important costumes are to the experience. There will be about 25 different costumes for every character featured as downloadable content, something that hasn’t happened with any other fighting game on the 3DS. Even aside from the promotion that the company may be running, there aren’t too many people who haven’t loved Dead or Alive to some capacity, as it’s been one of the classic fighting games that we’ve experienced over the past few years. It’s always been solid, well-built and without some of the complexity of other fighters on the market.

Another great advantage is that you will be able to take this game with you wherever you go, as this is the first DOA game to be available on a handheld gaming platform. And now with the 3d think about how cool it will be to see your opponents flying off of the screen at you and your friends once you have mastered your moves and perfected your skills. Yup i said you and your friends, you can now play in team multiplayer mode a race through the classic DOA zones with your buddies, wreaking havoc on all the enemies of the Dead or Alive saga.
Dead or Alive Dimensions drops on March 31st, a couple of days after the March 27th Nintendo 3ds console. Pre-orders for the new DOA 3d are available right now on Amazon. If you are pre-ordering the 3ds and are a fighting game fan this is THE 3ds release title you should be ordering along with it.
