You might have played LEGO Star Wars in the past but now one of the hottest gaming franchises is coming to you in 3d. LEGO Star Wars The Clone Wars 3d is the first game in the series which allows you to relive your favorite stories from the Clone Wars Saga with the your favorite ‘Lego-ized’ Star Wars characters.
We don’t have to get into the massive following that Star Wars has. Millions of people are simply enamored with the universe, and there happen to be quite a few people who’ve played video games based on it. LEGO Star Wars, in particular, has been one that has kept people busy for hours on end. It’s actually a little surprising, as what was marketed as a children’s game saw an explosion of older players taking to it, as it was written quite well and features some pretty sharp wit. The long awaited 3DS version of the game, one that features high-paced action and lightsaber combat is shaping up to be heralded as one of the better in the series.
New Gameplay, Classic Characters
One of the things that have drawn people to this game is the fact that it has something for both the new and old gamers, even those who aren’t specifically keen on Star Wars. It features responsive, yet surprisingly deep levels of combat for those who’re just looking for an action game. But for those who know a bit about Star Wars and the universe, they’ll be pleased to know that they’ll see some familiar faces in the game. As this takes place during the clone wars there will be no Han Solo or Princess Leia. Rather you will be slicing through the levels with Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan, Yoda, and other members of the Clone Wars Cartoon Network series.

You will put these force powers to the test right off the bat as you get to start the game off as Yoda!! I’ve always wanted to wreak havoc with the little green Jedi warrior! As a third person action adventure the game still gives a bit of a platform feel and the 3D graphics engine is said to really add some impressive depth to the environment.
On top of the action based lightsaber battling and clone trooper range battles you can pilot the Jedi Starfighters and Y-wing bombers in fast paced space combat. These kind of that 3D third person flight scroller arcade feel to them but the smooth frame rates and 3D effect will make the space combat a nice change of pace from the ground combat.

In short, this is assuredly one of those games that should be experienced, especially considering the fact that this will be one of the launch games with the 3Ds, and there’s definitely nothing wrong with breaking the system in with a strong title. The one down side we see is the lack of co-op play with the 3DS online systems. You can exchange characters and items with street pass but no multiplayer unfortunately.
