Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3ds Release Date: August 26, 2011
Resident Evil is what most consider to be the quintessential horror titles out there. There haven’t been many games that have seen such a following, with millions of people saying that they’ve had the experience to slay some zombies in one of their compelling games. What’s more is the fact that the Nintendo 3DS is actually seeing something by the way of Resident Evil The Mercenaries. It’s the first time that a complete Resident Evil game will be on a handheld, and considering the power that the 3DS has, it’s been shaping up to be one of the those that’s worth talking about. Even though it’s not a launch game, there are still scores of people who’re speaking highly of it already.
This game is actually a collection of the various missions that were found in Resident Evil 4 and 5 so it is more of a re-telling but in a totally new gameplay experience. You will also have access to many other modes that you can try out and perfect your skills so you will never be bored with the game.
Resident Evil The Mercenaries Gameplay Features:
- Global Co-op wifi multi-player modes
- New ability to move and aim simultaneously to keep distance from enemies
- 4 Playable Characters including Claire Redfield
- Maps and Levels from RE 4 and 5
- Classic lore enemies
Not the Ordinary Thing
One of the things that have made a lot of people excited is the fact that it’s not littered with storyline. Let’s face it; people who are playing handheld games aren’t particularly keen on having to watch cutscene after cutscene – people want action. Capcom has taken this into account and has developed a game that’s focused on zombie killing action. The game is based on the popular mini-games that are contained on the discs after you’d complete a Resident Evil game. This widely popular mini-game was made a separate game of its own, and it looks and plays pretty well.

The graphics have always been a strongpoint for Capcom and Resident Evil. They haven’t disappointed here with The Mercenaries 3ds version, as the character models look just as good as one would expect, reasonably taking into account the lower resolution. Even still, Chris Redfield looks exactly how you would expect, and the lighting and shadows effects are just as one would expect from a RE game. Also, the characters from previous games are represented, featuring Claire and Chris Redfield, Jack Krauser, and even an appearance by Hunk. All in all, Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3d is a game that a lot of people will be carrying around.
