Steel Diver 3ds Release Date: March 27th 2011
These days, there really doesn’t seem to be many games that we’d consider to be much different than what we’ve already seen. This doesn’t mean that some of these derived games aren’t good, as they are, but it’s always nice to see developers doing something new. Steel Diver 3ds may not be the first submarine game, but honestly, there definitely aren’t that many of them that are good. It’s rather unfortunate, as there probably are a plethora of submarine fans out there that are looking for something that they’ll be able to play for hours on end. The 3DS makes that a reality, bringing a truly unique game that may make people fans of submarines.
It’s not very often that a person uses the word “fast-paced” to describe a submarine game. Normally, people consider that the games are slow and methodical, and while there are some elements of that in the game – there’s a lot more here. But, easily the best thing about this game is the control scheme. It’s completely unique, taking advantage of the touch screen and gyroscope, making this one of the more unique games on the market. It’s good to know that they didn’t spare any expense to create the game, as there are so many releases that are plagued with a control scheme that renders it unplayable.
Steel Diver 3ds Gameplay Footage
In addition to the stellar controls, the game modes are actually pretty fun. In addition to the standard 1 player experience, there are some good options by the way of multiplayer. There’s a multiplayer game called Steel Commander, which is essentially the classic Battleship game that just about everyone grew up playing. In short, Steel Diver is a game that’s definitely worth purchase for those who’re fans of deep sea action, as the 3D provided by the Nintendo 3ds really makes the whole experience pop.
